So, I bought a few patterns and leafed through my pattern box to give myself a shortlist. I also spent way too long at the fabric shelves in Hobbycraft (local fabric shops selections are frustratingly poor and I like to actually touch the fabric before I buy, but it did me proud). After about an hour and 45mins and a cranky baby ready for a sleep and a bottle I left with this pile of goodies.
I don't know why I went with a yellow colour scheme. I was torn between the middle one (Amy Butler Midwest Modern) and a lovely purple and teal print. In the end it came down to sensible coordination and I thought at least I could mix and match the prints a bit.
First up and more importantly completed was this very cute and girly Flutter Skirt from sewsweetpatterns which I made with a mix of the top two fabrics on my pile. I made the 12-18m size. I'm making the Sassy Pleated Skirt next from the bottom yellow fabric which I bought extra of so I could also make up the Sailboat top from Oliver + s.
I'll post some photos when I have finished them. For now, here is my completed Flutter skirt....
